Dermatology : Muckle-Wells Syndrome

Muckle-Wells Syndrome is a rare progressive disorder which may begin during infancy or early childhood. It has been reported in many regions in the world but its prevalence is unknown.

The disease is characterized by the following indications:

• Fever (periodic episodes).

• Chills.

• Non- itchy rashes (periodic episodes).

• Hives or recurrent urticaria.

• Sensorineural deafness.

• Periodic episodes Arthritis (painful joints).

• Pin prick or needle prick sensation.

• Kidney damage.

• Progressive deafness.

• In some cases, redness in the white of the eye is also seen.
