is root canal safe for children

A " baby root canal " is a very safe and effective way for your child to keep her tooth until it will naturally come out at age 6-7. What concerns me is not the procedure, but that the fact that your 3 year old daughter needs it to begin with. If it is due to trauma (fractured tooth), so be it. However, if it is due to decay... you should re-evaluate your home care habits with the child. Talk to your dentist and make sure that there are no other problems in her mouth and that you are following the proper health care regimen for her. Baby teeth need to be brushed and cleaned everyday, just like adult teeth.
